THE TALENT ASSOCIATES LAUNCHES UP! RADIO PROMOTION, WELCOMES BERNAS

New unit to focus on “The Reality of the Developing Indie Artist”

For Immediate Release:

Nashville, TN  (May 13, 2016) - The Talent Associates announces the formation of UP! Promotion and Marketing, a company “focused on the the reality of the developing indie artist,” said TTA CEO John Ettinger. In addition, the new company brings promotion veteran EJ Bernas to the team. UP! Promo will be specifically charged with handling radio promotion and marketing assistance for smaller labels and independent artists.

“Too many artists have come to us after having an unhappy experience with other radio promotion efforts, “ said Ettinger. “This company is being formed to provide custom radio strategies at a correct price.”

The new company will be run by TTA VP of Promotion and Artist Development Ryan Barnstead, along with Ettinger and Bernas, who started his promotion career at Universal working under then Mercury VP Ettinger. UP! Promo is set to provide promotion strategy and execution for artist and labels, specializing in “markets where real airplay and touring opportunities collide.”

“I’m so excited to get started here,” said Bernas, whose promotion career has included positions at MCA, Curb, and Dot Records. “We are going to be super focused on making relationships for our artists, and helping them find win-win activity with stations.”

“We’ve been very careful in not grabbing for independent dollars,” said Barnstead. “Labels love using us as a 5th regional, and our self-funded artists know we bring targeted strategy and keep to a smart budget,” adding, “one EJ Bernas is worth three normal reps - he brings huge passion and a decade-long track record of breaking acts.”
